When you add a website to your account, it already comes with a default set of essential alerts, but you can also customize these alerts to make sure you have the best possible setup for your team's needs. Theo, who manages his website's technical, SEO wants to stay on top of key issues and ensure other team members get notified about the changes and issues relevant to their workflows as well.

Within the alerts report, you can review any active and past incidents, which are specific events that occur on your website and trigger an alert based on your alert definitions. The best practice for alerts is to ensure they're set up precisely to fit your and your team's needs as not all changes require immediate attention.

There are six types of alerts we can create alerts related to changes in on-page properties and issues, which can be triggered by changes to a page's status relations between pages, a page's content or analytics tracking alerts related to changes and issues of the technical platform of the website alerts triggered by pages entering or leaving a segment. For example, if you've integrated your analytics and defined a segment for pages with high page views, you can be alerted to a traffic drop by creating an alert for when a page leaves that segment.

Alerts for changes to elements you define with custom element extraction or highly versatile and can notify you about changes to any page element or property important to you, whether it's a drop in your products review scores, an empty category page, or an article that was last updated too far in the past.
