The AI Search Performance report lets you monitor brand presence across AI search engines. Gain insights into user intent, behavior, and by tracking the topics that matter to your organization with Conductor. Then, dig into the data to see the mentions and citations of your brands across AI search platforms.
Review visibility metrics and performance trends, and investigate market share, intent, and analysis with interactive dashboards—with daily and weekly tracking.
To start using AI Search Performance, you'll need to identify the brands and personas you care about, and then start tracking topics and the prompts that represent them. Learn how in the AI Search Setup article.
Set the scope of the report
Controls at the top of the AI Search Performance report determine the scope of the data that appears below. You can determine:
- The website or websites you want to measure. What properties are included?
- The AI search engine or engines you want to see data for. Currently, Conductor supports the following engines across over 160 countries:
- ChatGPT (Auto)
- ChatGPT (Search)
- Gemini
- Google AI Mode
- Google AIO
- Perplexity
- The topics your want to report on.
- The Prompt Type—branded or unbranded—you want to see data for.
- The dates across which you want to see data for.
Review your brands' and website's visibility in AI results
The Overview tab in AI Search Performance includes views of your brand mentions and website citations across the AI search engines on which you've tracked topics.
Brand Mentions Over Time
With the Brand Mentions Over Time chart, you can choose to see either the number of topics or the number of prompts for which your brands or your brands' products were and were not mentioned, across the reporting time period.
Website Citations Over Time
With the Website Citations Over Time chart, you can choose to see either the number of topics or the number of prompts for which your website was and was not cited in AI search results, across the reporting time period
Dig into your tracked topics
In both of these charts, you can click a bar in the charts to view the topics for which you were or were not mentioned or cited.
Review audience insights about your AI search performance
You can use the charts in the Audience section to monitor trends in the visibility of owned brand mentions and website citations over time by persona and intent. You can choose to see this data by your total mentions or citations, or by percent of the total mentions or citations.
Intent Performance Over Time
The Intent Performance Over Time chart tracks how often your brand was mentioned or website was cited in AI search results for prompts, grouped by search intent.
Persona Performance Over Time
The Persona Performance Over Time chart tracks how often your brand was mentioned or cited in AI search results for prompts, grouped by persona.

Dig into your tracked prompts
In both of these charts, you can click a bar in the charts to view the prompts for which you were or were not mentioned or cited.
See a trend of your brands' sentiment in AI search over time
Track changes in Brand Sentiment Over Time to understand your brands' total positive and negative mentions—and see how your sentiment score trends over time. Low scores reflect negative sentiment and high scores reflect positive sentiment.

Analyze the websites driving sentiment in your tracked AI search engine responses
Identify the leading sources for positive and negative sentiment in the Sentiment Sources widget. Use the Category filter about the chart to focus on specific categories of sentiment that appear in mentions of your brands.
Dig into the specific statements driving sentiment
In the Sentiment Sources widget, click Explore to open Sentiment Analysis. Use this activity to review the statements that drive the sentiment in AI search engine responses.
Determine the scope of your analysis using the controls at the top of the activity, including:
- Website
- AI Search Engine
- Related tracked topics
- Branded or unbranded prompts
- Negative or Positive sentiment
- Sentiment category
- Reporting time period
Then, review the specific statements and sources of those statements, along with a word map to understand what words drive sentiment most.

Review your brands' and website's market share in AI results
The Market Share pie chart and the Market Share Trends Over Time line graph identify the brands and websites that appear for the topics you are reporting on. If you track multiple brands across the website you are reporting on, you'll see those brands mentions aggregated into one group for your website.
To choose between viewing mentions and citations, use the menu above the charts.
Explore your underlying market share data
If you want to understand more about the topics and the mentions and citations that drive your market share, you can use the Explore button to launch a report where you can see the individual brands or websites with data about each, including:
- Sentiment score.
- Market share values.
- Change in market share during the reporting time period.
- Number of topics with mentions or citations.
- Change in number of topics with mentions or citations.
- Mentioned or cited topics.
Using this Explore window, you can update the scope of your report (the website, engines, topics, and date) to dig into the brands, websites, and topics driving your performance. To understand your competitors' performance relative to your own, you can use the Label column to view or filter by your configured comparison web properties when you are reviewing website citation data.

If you want, you can export the data you explore in this window to a Microsoft Excel file. Just click the Share icon and select Download XLSX.
Share your AI Search Performance views
As with other areas of the Conductor platform, use the Share icon to extend your data and insights beyond the product. You can download each of the views on the Overview tab of the AI Search Performance report as an image to share.
Review your brands' and website's performance across your tracked topics and prompts
The Topics and Prompts tabs in AI Search Performance include corresponding tables where you can view all of the topics and prompts you are tracking for each search engine.
For each topic listed in the table on the Topics tab, you can see data about the prompts, mentions, and citations that are relevant to each topic.
For each prompt listed in the Prompts tab, you can see:
- Its corresponding topic.
- Details about the prompt, such as persona and search intent.
- Mentions and citations you earned and their change over time.
Organize your table data
As with other tables in Conductor, you can use the controls above the tables to:
- Include or exclude specific columns from the table.
- View and clear filters set on table columns.
- View and clear sorted table columns.
Review the Topics Table
Go to the Topics tab to review the following data.
Prompt data
The No. of Prompts column indicates the total number of unique AI search prompts related to this topic during the selected time period.
Mentions data

No. of Mentions (First time period)
The number of times your brand was explicitly mentioned in responses to prompts about this topic. -
No. of Mentions (Second time period)
The number of times your brand was explicitly mentioned in responses to prompts about this topic. -
Change (No. of Mentions)
The increase or decrease in brand mentions compared to the previous time period, indicating shifts in brand visibility. -
% Prompts with Mentions (First time period)
The percentage of topic-related prompts that included a direct mention of your brand, reflecting brand prominence. -
% Prompts with Mentions (Second time period)
The percentage of topic-related prompts that included a direct mention of your brand, reflecting brand prominence. -
Change (% Prompts with Mentions)
The change in the percentage of prompts that mentioned your brand, compared to the previous period.
Citations Data

Total Citations (First time period)
The number of times your website was cited as a source in responses or referenced content related to this topic. -
Total Citations (Second time period)
The number of times your website was cited as a source in responses or referenced content related to this topic. -
Change (Total Citations)
The difference in citation count from the previous time period, indicating growth or decline in authority or relevance. -
% Prompts with Citations (First time period)
The proportion of prompts that resulted in a citation of your website, highlighting how often your content is referenced. -
% Prompts with Citations (Second time period)
The proportion of prompts that resulted in a citation of your website, highlighting how often your content is referenced. -
Change (% Prompts with Citations)
The change in the citation rate compared to the previous period, showing shifts in authority or relevance. -
Top Cited Page
The most frequently cited page on your website for this topic, typically the most relevant or authoritative content.
Dig into the details of a topic you track
When you identify a tracked topic you want to know more about, just click where it appears in the table to jump to the Topic Details report.
Review the Prompts Table
Go to the Topics tab to review the following data.
Prompt Details

Topic
The topic you track corresponding to the prompt. -
Prompt Type
Values might be Branded or Unbranded. Specifies if the prompt explicitly names a company, brand, or unique product (branded) or does not (unbranded). -
Persona
The persona or personas associated with the prompt. -
Search Intent
The search intent associated with the prompt. -
Search Mode
Indicates how the search engine retrieved the response.- Live Search uses real-time web data to answer the prompt.
- Static Search relies on the AI’s pre-trained knowledge and may not include citations or recent updates. Brand mentions and citations will only appear in Static Search if they were part of the model’s original training data.

Response generated
Indicates whether a response was returned, not returned, or if the data is still being collected (shown as blank). This is especially useful when reviewing prompts returned from the Google AIO search engine, for which Google may not always return an AIO response for a query.

Brand Mentions (First time period)
The number of times your brand was explicitly mentioned in responses to prompts about this topic. -
Mentioned Brand (First time period)
The brand or brands mentioned in the AI search result during the first time period. -
Brand Mentions (Second time period)
The number of times your brand was explicitly mentioned in responses to prompts about this topic. -
Mentioned Brand (Second time period)
The brand or brands mentioned in the AI search result during the second time period. -
Change (Brand Mentions)
The increase or decrease in brand mentions compared to the previous time period, indicating shifts in brand visibility.
Citations

Pages Cited (First time period)
The number of times your website was cited as a source in responses or referenced content related to this topic. -
Cited Page (First time period)
Your pages cited for this prompt during the time period. Click the URL to jump to the live page. -
Pages Cited (Second time period)
The number of times your website was cited as a source in responses or referenced content related to this topic. -
Cited Page (Second time period)
Your pages cited for this prompt during the time period. Click the URL to jump to the live page. -
Change (Pages Cited)
The difference in citation count from the previous time period, indicating growth or decline in authority or relevance.

Export your tracked topic and prompt data
In both the Topic and Topic Details reports, you can click the Share icon above the table and select Download XLSX to export a Microsoft Excel file with all the data in either table.
