The AI Search Performance report lets you monitor brand presence in AI search engines like ChatGPT Search and Perplexity. Gain insights into user intent and behavior by tracking the content topics that matter to your organization with Conductor, and see the mentions and citations of your brands across AI search platforms.
Review visibility metrics, performance trends, market share analysis, and interactive dashboards—with daily and weekly tracking.
To start using AI Search Performance, you'll need to identify the brands and personas you care about, and then start tracking topics and the prompts that represent them. Learn how in the AI Search Setup article.
Overview
Set the scope of the report
Controls at the top of the AI Search Performance report determine the scope of the data that appears below. You can determine:
- The website or websites you want to measure. What properties are included?
- The AI search engine or engines you want to see data for. Currently, Conductor supports ChatGPT and Perplexity across the over 160 countries.
- The topics your want to report on.
- The Prompt Type—branded or unbranded—you want to see data for.
- The dates across which you want to see data for.
Review your brands' and website's visibility and market share in AI results
The Overview tab in AI Search Performance includes views of your brand mentions and website citations across the AI search engines on which you've tracked topics.
Brand Mentions Over Time
The Brand Mentions Over Time chart indicates the number of topics for which your brand was mentioned and the number of topics for which your brand was not mentioned, across the reporting time period.
Website Citations Over Time
The Website Citations Over Time chart indicates the number of topics for which your website was cited in AI search results, across the reporting time period
Dig into your tracked topics
In both of these charts, you can click a bar in the charts to view the topics for which you were or were not mentioned or cited.
Review your market share and market share trends
The Market Share pie chart and the Market Share Trends Over Time line graph identify the brands and websites that appear for the topics you are reporting on. If you track multiple brands across the website you are reporting on, you'll see those brands mentions aggregated into one group for your website.
To choose between viewing mentions and citations, use the menu above the charts.
Explore your underlying market share data
If you want to understand more about the topics and the mentions and citations that drive your market share, you can use the Explore button to launch a report where you can see the individual brands or websites with data about each, including:
- Market share values.
- Change in market share during the reporting time period.
- Number of topics with mentions or citations.
- Change in number of topics with mentions or citations.
- Mentioned or cited topics.
Using this Explore window, you can update the scope of your report (the website, engines, topics, and date) to dig into the brands, websites, and topics driving your performance. To understand your competitors' performance relative to your own, you can use the Label column to view or filter by your configured comparison web properties when you are reviewing website citation data.
If you want, you can export the data you explore in this window to a Microsoft Excel file. Just click the Share icon and select Download XLSX.
Share your AI Search Performance views
As with other areas of the Conductor platform, use the Share icon to extend your data and insights beyond the product. You can download each of the views on the Overview tab of the AI Search Performance report as an image to share.
Review your brands' and website's performance across your tracked topics
The Topics tab in AI Search Performance includes a table where you can view all of the topics you are tracking for each search engine. For each topic and search engine, you can see data about the prompts, mentions, and citations that are relevant to the topic.
Organize your table data
As with other tables in Conductor, you can use the controls above the table to:
- Include or exclude specific columns from the table.
- View and clear filters set on table columns.
- View and clear sorted table columns.
Prompt data
The No. of Prompts column indicates the total number of unique AI search prompts related to this topic during the selected time period.
Mentions data

No. of Mentions (First time period)
The number of times your brand was explicitly mentioned in responses to prompts about this topic. -
No. of Mentions (Second time period)
The number of times your brand was explicitly mentioned in responses to prompts about this topic. -
Change (No. of Mentions)
The increase or decrease in brand mentions compared to the previous time period, indicating shifts in brand visibility. -
% Prompts with Mentions (First time period)
The percentage of topic-related prompts that included a direct mention of your brand, reflecting brand prominence. -
% Prompts with Mentions (Second time period)
The percentage of topic-related prompts that included a direct mention of your brand, reflecting brand prominence. -
Change (% Prompts with Mentions)
The change in the percentage of prompts that mentioned your brand, compared to the previous period.
Citations Data

Total Citations (First time period)
The number of times your website was cited as a source in responses or referenced content related to this topic. -
Total Citations (Second time period)
The number of times your website was cited as a source in responses or referenced content related to this topic. -
Change (Total Citations)
The difference in citation count from the previous time period, indicating growth or decline in authority or relevance. -
% Prompts with Citations (First time period)
The proportion of prompts that resulted in a citation of your website, highlighting how often your content is referenced. -
% Prompts with Citations (Second time period)
The proportion of prompts that resulted in a citation of your website, highlighting how often your content is referenced. -
Change (% Prompts with Citations)
The change in the citation rate compared to the previous period, showing shifts in authority or relevance. -
Top Cited Page
The most frequently cited page on your website for this topic, typically the most relevant or authoritative content.
Dig into the details of a topic you track
When you identify a tracked topic you want to know more about, just click where it appears in the table to jump to the Topic Details report.
Export your tracked topic and prompt data
In both the Topic and Topic Details reports, you can click the Share icon above the table and select Download XLSX to export a Microsoft Excel file with all the data in either table.
