What's a call?
A "call" is the unit that measures MCP activity. Each interaction uses one: a question, a follow-up, one step in a skill workflow.
Worth knowing: conversational querying and Skills both use calls, but Skills are often the more efficient path. When you're working something out manually — asking, refining, following up, reformatting — each of those steps is a call. A Skill gets you to a structured, finished deliverable in a single run, often using fewer calls than the back-and-forth would. If efficiency matters, Skills are your friend.
For a rough sense of scale, here's approximately how many calls each Skill uses per run — based on our own testing:

Checking your usage
Call usage is visible to admin users from the subscription page in your Conductor account. If your team grows into heavier usage and you want to expand your allocation, reach out to your Conductor team — it's a straightforward conversation, not a hard stop.
