When I use a Content Profile, can I add more instructions to the AI engine before generating content?
Content Profiles are designed to replace the one-off entry of tone, style, and exclusion terms for each draft. You'll select a profile at the start, and the AI will use those guidelines. However, the Additional Instructions field allows you to provide specific, ad-hoc instructions for a particular piece of content that might not be part of the general profile.
How does the Audience configured in a Content Profile relate to the "Audience" insight I see in Writing Assistant?
They represent two different, complementary concepts of "audience."
- The "Audience" in your Content Profile is who your brand is generally trying to reach with that type of content (e.g., "marketing managers in B2B SaaS"). This is your defined target.
- The "Audience" insight card in Writing Assistant reflects the likely audience characteristics of people searching for the specific keyword you're targeting, based on analysis of currently ranking content.
Both are valuable. Your profile ensures you speak to your target, while the insight card helps you understand who is currently engaging with content for that keyword, potentially highlighting alignment or a strategic decision to write differently than current rankers.
We have multiple buyer personas. How should we use Content Profiles for these?
If your different personas require distinct voice, tone, or specific language, you should create a separate Content Profile for each persona. You can name the profiles accordingly (e.g., "Blog Profile - Persona A," "Blog Profile - Persona B").
Can I upload my existing style guide document?
Not currently. For now, you'll manually input the key elements (voice, tone, audience, exclusions) into the Content Profile fields. The ability to upload existing documents is a planned future enhancement.
How many Content Profiles can I create?
You can create as many profiles as you need to represent all of your different content initiatives or areas of ownership.
What happens if I don't select a Content Profile when I generate a draft in Writing Assistant?
Writing Assistant will show an alert encouraging you to select one—because using a Content Profile helps ensure your AI-generated content aligns with your brand and doesn't sound generic. However, you can proceed without selecting a Content Profile.
