Determine if a page is a candidate for optimization while you view it
Want to quickly tell what keywords a page is ranking for and whether it’s well-optimized? You don't have to rely solely on traffic or visibility metrics in the Conductor platform. You can also use Conductor's Chrome extension to quickly tell if a page is well-optimized, right from your browser.
Before you begin, make sure you have downloaded Conductor for Chrome.
- While you are viewing a page on your site you, open Conductor for Chrome from your among your Chrome extensions.
- Sign into the extension using your usual Conductor sign in credentials. The extension shows the Overview section first.
- In the Overview section, scroll down to the Word Frequency section. Review the top occurrences of words on the page. If your primary target keyword for the page is not at the top of the list (or near the top), you might consider including the keyword more in your page copy.
- Above Word Frequency, scroll to view the page's Headings. Do your primary target keywords appear in these elements? If not, consider adding it.
- On the left, click Keyword Research, which shows you the keywords this page ranks for. What are the keywords your page is ranking for? Are they your desired keywords?
- If so, great! Your having success for the keywords you care about.
- If not, the information that you previously discovered in the Overview section regarding word frequency and header copy might be a quick way to move up the rankings.
