Conductor is excited to test our new keyword reporting experience with a limited set of users. This new experience not only updates the look and feel of our existing Keywords and Keyword Details reports, but—more importantly—uses Conductor's new data platform to provide data with more precision, more flexibility, and more fidelity.
Optimize your strategy with the market’s best keyword reporting, revealing the advanced insights you need—and eliminating the manual steps you don’t. These new reports were engineered to meet enterprise-level needs, intelligently summarizing trends, uncovering demand patterns, identifying opportunities and threats, and more.
What's new in these reports?
This Alpha program brings the following updates to the Keywords and Keyword Details reports—and related improvements to the data the reports communicate.
Keywords
- A new tabbed experience intuitively organizes keyword data so you can more easily find insights:
- The new Overview tab now includes the Visibility Over Time chart, and space for future visibility-related charts.
- The new Keywords tab includes the Keywords table.
- New column filters allow you to filter data in the table at the column level.
- You can now add keywords to keyword groups and stop tracking keywords in bulk.
- With our new data collection and storage methods that publish data as soon as Conductor collects it—rather than waiting until all data is collected and published on Monday—you'll be able to review collected data-to-date in the current time period.
Keyword Details
- Data from the previous Keyword Details: Visibility and Keyword Details: Rank Trends reports are now included in a single Keyword Details report.
- Now, this report includes data for the top 100 results for all keywords you track (no longer 100 results for tracked domains and top 10 for all others).
- The report now includes an indicator for potential cannibalization on your site (“Number of Ranking Pages”).
- To help you configure your reporting preferences as you review your data, you can now change Target Page (“preferred URL”) directly from the Keyword Details report.
Data Enhancements
Historical Keyword Data On-Demand
When Conductor has data for a keyword you add to your account, you'll immediately see data for that keyword up to 2 years in the past based on when Conductor began collecting data for it.
The Insights You Need—Faster
- Rank data and monthly search volume data are updated as soon as they are collected—no waiting until the next week for new data.
- Changes you make to your keyword configuration happen immediately.
Improved Monthly Search Volume Data in Keywords reports
- For previous months, we will show the approximate actual search volume for that month—not a rolling 12-month average as before.
- For months where we don’t have the full data set—such as the current month in progress or the most recent month where we might not have a full data set—we will show the averaged monthly search volume.
FAQs
Why do I see different monthly search volume values for the same keywords across the previous and new reports?
Conductor collects monthly search volume in Conductor Intelligence's previous Keywords and Keyword Details reports from Google's Keyword Planner. Google publishes the previous months data part-way through the following month—so there will always be a substantial lag between the date you generate a report and the date search volume data was actually collected (and the time period it reflects).
To give you the freshest data in these new reports, we now use an expected monthly search volume based on a rolling 12-month average for keywords where we don't yet have the published search volume data. Once published, the data is updated in the reports.
As a result, you might see different monthly search volume values for the same keywords across the previous and new reports.
You can read more about our approach to monthly search volumes across Conductor Intelligence: Monthly Search Volume FAQs
Why do I see different ranks for the same keywords across the previous and new reports?
The previous Keywords and Keyword Details reports attempt to show the most recent rank data collected by Conductor. However, the timing of our data collection for weekly publication might require Conductor to publish rank data for its weekly reports despite later collecting more recent, daily ranks for the keyword. As a result, when reporting weekly, you might see rank data for a keyword that was collected for the week earlier than the more recent rank data collected as part of our daily collection.
With these new reports, we will always publish the most recent rank collected during a week.
