The IBM Digital Analytics integration is a content- and site-level integration for Conductor with your corresponding IBM analytics profile. With this file-based email integration, organizations can use Conductor to:
- Manage and measure the performance of their content for their most important pages.
- Identify and improve poor-performing content.
- Identify and protect existing high-performing content.
- Prove ROI and show the importance of organic search to the rest of the organization.
This document gives you the technical background and instructions for integrating content-level analytics with IBM Digital Analytics. After completing these instructions, you will have the following four (4) reports set up for your IBM Digital Analytics profile:
- Two (2) site-level reports at weekly and monthly frequencies.
- Two (2) page-level reports at weekly and monthly frequencies.
Data takes up to two (2) weeks to appear in Conductor after the reports are set up. If you do not see your data after two weeks, please contact Support.
Technical Information
Requirements
To integrate, the following must be true for your organization:
- You have both of the following Channels set up for your Marketing Channels report in IBM Digital Analytics:
- Natural Search.
- Paid Search. If Paid Search is not included in your Marketing Channels report, you can add it as a Marketing Channel. In IBM Digital Analytics, follow the path Manage > Marketing > Marketing Channels and add Paid Search on the Manage Marketing Channels page.
- If your Paid Search channel is called something other than 'Paid Search' please notify Support prior to setting up your reports.
- You have access to the IBM Digital Analytics Explore product and enough available credits for two (2) full data reports used for weekly and monthly page-level reporting. If you do not have access to the Explore product, please contact your IBM representative to learn more.
Accepted Metrics
Sessions is a required metric. However, you can select up to nine (9) more standard metrics to export from IBM Digital Analytics. Calculated and unique metrics are not accepted at this time:
- Calculated metrics are any metric that includes the word Average or Rate or a metric that uses a formula. Because these metrics represent formulas rather than concrete values, Conductor cannot import them.
- Unique metrics, such as Unique Visitors or Unique Buyers, are unique to the date range you select for the report. For example, a visitor initiates a session on a page in Week 1 and in Week 2. When looking at Week 1 and Week 2 individually, the visitor counts as a Unique Visitor once in each week. However, when looking at Week 1 through Week 2, Visitor A counts as a Unique Visitor only once for both weeks.
All metrics should be the same across all reports. Files sent that do not meet this requirement cannot be integrated.
Report Delivery and Frequency
A total of four (4) reports must be set up for delivery at the following frequencies and dimensions:
- Weekly site-level report
- Monthly site-level report
- Weekly page-level report
- Monthly page-level report
Weekly reports must be emailed to contentintegrations@conductor.com each week by Sunday at 12 P.M. Eastern Time.
Monthly reports must be emailed to contentintegrations@conductor.com each month by 12 P.M. Eastern Time on the first day of the following month.
File Format and Naming Convention
This integration uses an emailed flat file to send analytics data from your IBM Digital Analytics product to Conductor. To accommodate this feature, files must be in the .csv format.
Files names must include domain, dimension, reporting frequency , date range, and file extension. IBM Digital Analytics automatically appends the date range and the file extension, so you don't have to include this when naming the file. File names must appear in the following format:
domainNickname_Dimension_ReportingFrequency_DateRange.extension
For example, domainNickname_Domain_Monthly_DateRange.csv would be the final name for a monthly Marketing Channels report, and domainNickname_Page_Weekly_DateRange.csv would be the final name for a weekly page-level report.
Support will provide you with your domainNickname. If you do not have one, please contact Support.
