Overview
Choose the web property–search engine combination for which you want your recommendations generated. Note that for any given web property–search engine combination you choose to see recommendations for, you must be tracking keywords on the associated search engine at the country-level to see recommendations in the report.
Choose which pages you want to focus on optimizing. You can do this by filtering the report by a number of different dimensions:
-
Page Group
You can filter by a page group you have created in Conductor. This ability offers you an easy way to focus your optimization on a selection of pages you have already determined have something in common and have decided to track together.
-
Preferred URLs
You can filter the report to show only pages that you have configured to be preferred URLs for your tracked keywords. You can then also filter this further by selecting a keyword group or keyword groups to narrow the report to only pages that are set as preferred URLs for keywords that belong to a specific keyword group.
-
Ranking in Tracked Keywords
You can filter the report to show only pages that are ranking in the first 100 results for your tracked keywords. You can then also filter this further by selecting a keyword group or keyword groups to narrow the report to only pages that rank for your keyword and that belong to a specific keyword group.
From the list of Helpful Ways to Sort, choose a sort order for your pages. Taking this action lets you choose the way you want to prioritize the pages with recommendations in the table below:
-
Best Opportunity
This option sorts the table to show your pages on the second page of search results first. These pages, if optimized, could make the jump to the first page of search results and receive higher click through rates. -
Quick Wins First
These are your low-hanging fruit. This option sorts your pages to show the lowest-effort and highest-impact recommendations first. -
Number of Recommendations
This option lists your pages in need of the most clean-up first. Pages are sorted from most to least number of recommendations. -
Most Organic Sessions
This option sorts your pages from those with the most organic sessions to those with the least during the most recent week. Doing so lets you make sure your most visited pages are optimized so you can continue to drive traffic.
Further focus your efforts
Filter the table by the on-page element the recommendation refers to. Elements include:
- Body Content
- Headers
- Images
- Meta Description
- Title
- URL
You can also filter the table the same way by clicking an element on the Top Recommendations for Your Pages graph at the top of the report.
If there are no recommendations for a given on-page element, that element will not appear in the filter or graph.
Review your pages and their recommendations in the table
Click a page listed in the table to see all of the recommendations Conductor has generated for that page. By default, recommendations for each page are sorted by the type of on-page element.
Each recommendation includes the following columns:
-
Related To
This column indicates which on-page element the recommendation applies to. Click the arrow icon in the upper-right corner to see SEO best practice information for that element. -
Description
This column states the recommendation and includes an explanation for why it is recommended, as well as other supporting information. -
Impact
This column shows how much of an impact resolving the recommendation will have on the SEO performance of the page. -
Effort
This column shows how much effort resolving the recommendation requires. -
Detection Date
This column indicates when Conductor first detected the issue that the recommendation suggests to resolve.
To research more about the page you are seeing recommendations for, click three-dot menu to jump to the Page Details report or to open the URL in a new browser tab.
Work with your team to resolve the recommendations for the pages in the table. Once Conductor publishes new data the first time after these recommendations are resolved, the recommendations will no longer appear in the table.
Note that Conductor cannot generate keyword-related recommendations for keywords that use non-Latin characters. As a result, recommendations related to keyword usage do not appear for keywords that include Arabic, Cyrillic, and other non-Latin characters.
